In Memoriam

Keith Dienstag -  1955-2004

The busy career of member Keith Dienstag kept him on the road a lot, so much so that he would often joke about his permanent resident status in airline club rooms. However, he made sure to make time for motorcycling, mostly on the street, but recently with a new found passion for track days and racing.  Keith was sustaining that racing passion when he was abruptly taken from us by a heart attack.  We have started to collect some of our thoughts about Keith here.

John M. Scifo, M.D. -  1960-2004

John was a member of STMC for only one year, but his quick humor and generous nature made him a welcome friend to many of us.  News of his sudden passing from a heart attack just days before his 44th birthday was a painful reminder of the preciousness of life.  However, we are comforted knowing that John lived each day fully, and that he chose to share a part of his life with us.  Our memories of John and his brief time with Sport Touring are assembled here.

Charles Tonking - 1961-2003

In late 2003, Sport Touring MC lost longtime club member Charles Tonking.  Charles was an expert downhill skier, a spirited riding enthusiast and a budding motorcycle roadracer.  More importantly, Charles was a dear friend.  While deeply saddened by the news of his loss, we can still look back at his affable nature and warm smile, and feel extremely fortunate to have known him. Some of our heartfelt memories of Charlie have been collected here.
